More Artist need to step up in this time like Bansky and use their art to speak out. I’m not sure of Bansky’s political stance but taking it to this level is where art needs to be. Art ran aground in a society of consumerism and existentialism esp in the late 90’s and early 2000’s .Though it seems cliche’ to STILL have to be addressing issues such as war and poverty -they are STILL issues. Bansky takes it to another level by overly simplifying the issue in the style of street art. His art works well in this setting, and reaches to where the people are at. Also a western artist now acknowledging the problems on the “street” level in the middle easts suggests that the “street” is no longer New York or London but global. Western street art in Israel, thats a new spin, though he’s be there once before in this context it seems like the first time.
