Devendra Banhart Feat. Natalie Portman, Carmensita

Natalie is a bit wacked don’t you think?
Dating Devendra Banhart is “cool” and all – but really, is that who she is?
I think she’s just “trying” really hard to be all indie and what-not, guess she earned the cred. by being in Darjeeling Limited, but she doesn’t strike me as really being that genuine about this whole post-indie vibe, kinda contrived. She seems like she’s the kinda girl who always has a “headache”, well maybe I do too after seeing her in this vid.

Fashion: Victor and Rolf fall 2008

I just thought this whole thing was soo hilarious. Putting a big “NO” on the clothes, and yet it was genius, which really I think the most creative genius often comes from a place of comedy, mixing that element with some chic threads and you have a high-concept show, with edgy but sarcastic message. Tongue and chic is what i’d call it. [ does a fake puke, then laughs hysterically] very Zoolander.

In Radiohead’s new video for “House of Cards”, no cameras or lights were used. Instead, 3D plotting technologies collected information about the shapes and relative distances of objects. The video was created entirely with visualizations of that data.

The magazine said the image “combines… fantastical images”
Obama team decries cartoon image
Barack Obama’s team has decried The New Yorker magazine for a cartoon cover depicting him in traditional Muslim garb and his wife as a terrorist.
Obama made a public outcry against people talking about him this week,”stop talking about me ” he said. Ooops! Your running for PRESIDENT! -I guess he thought he could slip into the White House unnoticed. It’s worked pretty well so far. ” just keep smiling..” and use words like HOPE, CHANGE, and COOKIES> well that last one should have been used, I think the crowds would all like free cookies, don’t you?
Well now at least Obama has taken a position on SOMETHING. We know now where he stands on free speech. “Speak freely about me as long as it flatters me” Otherwise it’s an “OUTRAGE”. Dimwits persist: everybody knows when you publicly de-cry [or in other words:cry like a baby] about some slanderous joke made about you, don’t really give it more fuel? Why get all riled up about something that youre saying isn’t true? – What ever you resist persists, people go into defense mode when they are threatened, obviously this image has a real visceral quality.
It seems to evoke the very real fears of many Americans. It is probably the most concise visual image thus far of this idea. Doesn’t this remind us of a certain CARTOON situation that angered Muslim sentiments in 2006? What was it with Cartoons that angered the Muslims? You would think that it almost started WW3, well maybe it did? So much for drawing cartoons these days. I guess crying over cartoons is part of Barak living up to his true to character,or should I say caricature. Seems the New Yorker had nail it on the head, and ended up affirming the very image they were trying to lampoon. Kudos.
