‘Moving’ skyscraper to be built in Dubai

Another reason to love Dubai, crazy, frantic, over the top

what is this place!?

The world’s first moving building, an 80-storey tower with revolving floors giving a shifting shape, will be built in Dubai, its architect says.

Artist image released by Dynamic Architecture shows the rotating skyscraper that is to be built in Dubai, in various stages of movement.

The Dynamic Tower design is made up of 80 pre-fabricated apartments which will spin independently of one another.

“It’s the first building that rotates, moves, and changes shape,” said architect David Fisher, who is Italian, at a news conference in New York.

“This building never looks the same, not once in a lifetime,” he added.

The 420-metre (1,378-foot) building’s apartments would spin a full 360 degrees, at voice command, around a central column by means of 79 giant power-generating wind turbines located between each floor.

New Beck Album: Modern Guilt
Love the title, so appropriate for now, Love Beck. Come to tell us what is really going on.

Beck’s Modern Guilt isn’t due until July 8th, but if you can’t wait that long — or hold out until the album leaks — Amazon is showcasing clips from the new LP (see video, above). In the black-and-white Warhol-esque montage, excerpts of songs like “Walls,” “Youthless” and the album’s title track are artfully previewed. If the two-minute Modern Guilt trailer doesn’t satiate you, Play.com is also streaming 30-second appetizers from each of the album’s 10 songs, letting you hear the cross-section of the genres Beck is playing with this time around. This wasn’t the only Beck news today: The troubadour will perform prior to Radiohead’s set on the first night of San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival, to be held the weekend of August 22nd. To read more about the Danger Mouse-produced Modern Guilt, check out Rolling Stone’s exclusive album preview here.

Show 2night!

Going to this show 2nite… My Friends band is headlining..

Known this guys for the better part of my life.. Happy to see them getting out there and on tour!

Metavari (http://www.myspace.com/metavari)
Timbre (http://www.myspace.com/timbre
Sankofa (http://www.myspace.com/rapsankofa)
Sky Thing (http://www.myspace.com/skything)

If you haven’t seen Timbre (http://www.myspace.com/timbre) before, she and her band are unbelievable. Four girls with beautiful voices playing a harp, a clarinet, and toy pianos. Timbre has played harp in an amazing cast of bands including mewithoutYou, Denison Witmer, Anathallo, Danielson Famile, the Psalters and Cool Hand Luke. We are equally as excited to share the stage with Fort Wayne’s own prolific rapper, Sankofa (http://www.myspace.com/rapsankofa). And if you haven’t seen Sky Thing.. just wait. A solo artist/drummer who performs overtop elaborate sonic experiments and soundscapes. Couldn’t think of a better way to start the evening.

crazy old woman vs telemarketer

Hilarious,

I wish this woman could be put to good use against all the telemarketers. HAHA

Copy cats: Coldplay Plagiarizes new album from indie band

Like i’ve always said. Coldplay is the most unoriginal, most banal, most trite and un-inspired  ”music”. I’ve ever heard.

Yikes! Yes, I know. HARSH. So many of my friends really like them – and soo many people are very avid “fans”, Of course if your music palate is radio pop rock then of course you believe what’s being told about them being “artists” is true.  It is hard to resist the constant marketing promos and in-ad spots for them and of course that “means something” right?!. “They were in a really cool itunes commercial,” they HAVE to be cool right!? They wear interesting fashionable attire, and seem “ARTSY”. [It's like people calling handi-crafts "Art"]. It’s like people who say “I’m a photographer” because they take pictures of banal things like flowers, sunsets and street lights.  But if you want to know how I really feel…….:)

Just watch this video below, that will infallibly prove my point.

They are the “poor-mans” version of  just about every great band out there, from U2 to Sigur Ros, to everything really. There music is devoid of any meaning, [except for what they copy/pasted  into their lyrics sheets. It’s soo obvious that they are just “trying”, soo desperate to just cherry-pick the latest trend out there to BE something “interesting”. There is no heart in what they do. There is no merit. This isn’t art. True art is a REAL voice coming from REAL  people’s lives and something that is coming from the soul. There isn’t any visceral quality to it. It’s all fabricated, from their marketing teams, corporate schemes and stylists. This isn’t the creation of music, it seems to just be there to make money. How would I recommend “cold-play” to some one? I’d say ” if you like McDonalds commercials, then you’ll LOVE this!

Click on this articles link for more on this story:

According to the BBC, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin walked out nine minutes into a pre-recorded interview for BBC’s Radio 4 because he wasn’t enjoying himself.

The lead singer seems to have quite an unjustifiable ego. They are one big commercial for what ever products the are told to promote. Their “music” is a seems to be marketing vehicle for the latest corporate merch. So when I hear all the ” hey i just got the new Coldpoop album ” I’m saying “oh that’s really great :) ” but just so you know, i’m probably getting a little puke coming up in the back of my throat.
